4x4 Expeditions.

The most recent trip was to northern Spain, Picos de Europa and the such like. Here are some random photos.

Mud and diff lock, but this is just the shop car park!
Our first view of the mountains in the distance. Nice.
At about 1km up we found snow.
And a deserted village, and ice, and sliding around.
Upwards and onwards, at about 1470m up we couldn't continue.
Following day we stayed on roads, mostly...
..and found a nice hotel. With a bar and food and everything.
It also had some good green lanes nearby, although it was a river for a bit.
Eventually the rocks were getting too big an i did an axle twisting multi point turn over boulders between a mud bank and a cliff edge. Rather splendid.
A few rocks had to be moved a bit but everything was put back the way we found it.
Next day we attacked the mountains again but from the other side.
Rocks, snow, ice and a sun tan.
Although it looks like Frank has crashed his Range Rover into the big rock, he is actually parked about ten meters away from it. Honest.
This time we managed to get over 1500m up before meeting too much snow and turning back.

A superb trip, many thanks to all participants and especially Frank Buxton aka Papa Dorc for unbelievable leadership in the face of chaos.

Please take a look at James's site www.ejames.co.uk for better pictures and more words.

Also, there is the Deranged Off Roaders Club site which contains our many adventures. www.dorc.org.uk
