15/5/06 Ralphy Two Jags

Well, I have a number of issues to fix, it seems that I cooked the rear caliper seals and the diff seals are inclined to follow suit. Also, as you may be able to see in the pictures above, the car rolls so much that i am picking up inside wheels.

The solution appeared on Ebay! A 3.6 XJ-S which has the Sports pack springs and a lower 3.54 LSD. So I am swapping the whole rear axle assemblys over and the front springs. This means the racer will accelerate faster and i can use 3rd gear more, it does drop the theoretical top speed down a lot, specially as the 50 profile tyres drop it about 11% to start with. The front of the car drops by about 2 inches so i will have to be carefully of speed bumps!

It also leaves me with a 3.6 with a ridiculously high diff, i will use this as my run around (as i am selling my beloved Discovery), it will have rubbish acceleration but may approach 40mpg!

Additional mods needed are to the air intake, a permanent fix to the transmission, find and fix the coolant leak, fabricate a better oil separator CCV thingy, remove more weight!

I am also getting the magazine article together, John is proving to be a merciless editor, hey, I never said i could spell! and what's grammar?

I may be on the Classics Monthly stand (or more accurately the car will) on the 2nd of july, this clashes with Cadwell but they are talking about beer so its no contest!
