The E30 racer

This is Diana’s race car, as she has built me a son I though it only reasonable to build her a race car. As she is a BMW fan the choice was obvious, the E30 is light and sprightly. This started out as a tidy 316 non-sun roof, I also acquired a rusty 325i and swapped the powertrain in. In a similar way to the Jag, it required trans tunnel mods and the rad didn’t fit! So now after a lot of work I effectively have a standard 325. The exhaust now exits just in front of the rear wheel and sounds quite ‘sporty’, the engine is only mildly tuned to maintain reliability. The gear selector is now a rose jointed system which is as positive as a rifle bolt.

I have acquired a pair of Corbau seats and a race steering wheel, and resting on the 17 inch wheels it's starting to look a bit sporty.

Next up is the X-Sport roll cage and suspension mods. We are looking for sponsorship but times are hard.
